Learn to adjust your Fractal account settings.
When to use
Settings in Fractal give you control over how your workspace looks, behaves, and evolves.
From the Settings panel, you can change themes, enable keyboard shortcut hints, toggle daily email summaries, manage embeds, and try out experimental features via Fractal Labs. It’s where you personalize your experience - whether you want a clean interface, advanced previews, or early access to new tools.
View settings
- Click the options button in the menu bar
- Click the “Settings” option
Change appearance
You can customize the theme, font, emoji style and a couple of other things from the settings panel.
- Open the options panel from the menu bar
- Click on “Settings”
- Choose your theme, font, link style, emoji style, etc.
Turn on keyboard shortcut panel
If you want to view the keyboard shortcuts inside of Fractal, you can turn on the shortcut panel.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut Win: CTRL + ?, Mac: CMD +?
- Click the options button in the menu bar
- Click the “Settings” option
- Toggle the “Help me learn the keyboard shortcuts” option
Toggle email summaries
Fractal will automatically send you daily update emails that show the previous day’s changes in your account. You can turn this email off if you prefer not to receive it.
- Click the options button in the menu bar
- Click the “Settings” option
- Toggle the “Send daily email summaries of changes to my account” option
Toggle labs features
Fractal is constantly adding new features, those features are first tested in Fractal labs. Fractal labs is an experimental version of the web app, desktop app, and mobile app that lets the user turn on and use experimental features.
Please note: Features in labs are constantly being updated and changed so only use labs if you are comfortable with things changing and breaking.
- Click the options button in the menu bar
- Click the “Settings” option
- Toggle “Fractal labs” under Experimental features
- Refresh your Fractal using Win: CTRL + R, Mac: CMD + R
- You can now open the settings panel again and you'll see experimental features you can toggle on or off.
Manage embed settings
Fractal can display certain types of media inline when URLs for the media are pasted. When a supported URL is pasted, the content will automatically be displayed.
You can disable this automatic embedding by toggling the embed type off.
Fractal currently supports the following embed types: • YouTube Videos • YouTube Shorts • Tweets / X posts • Loom videos
Remove the #copy from copies
By default, Fractal adds a #copy to any item you duplicate using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+D.
You can disable this hashtag if you prefer.
- Open the settings panel
- Scroll down to the 'Appearance' section
- Toggle the checkbox labeled 'Duplicate with #copy'
